I have been a teacher of modern Foreign Languages and headteacher for 31 years before becoming General Secretary of ASCL representing schools leaders throughout the UK. All views in these occasional blog posts are my own.
I now work as an education leadership consultant working with numerous schools as an external pair of eyes and ears providing support and constructive, non-judgemental challenge for their self-evaluation and development planning.
As schools prepare to move beyond the pandemic there is an unprecedented opportunity to learn the lessons from lockdown and review many different aspects of their operation and working practices whilst retaining the existing, values, culture and strengths. The kind of external input I provide can help to facilitate this kind of conversation.
